Lucky number seven, that's the Kia way. The Korean manufacturer have today announced their strategy to launch seven new, dedicated, battery-electric models by 2027.

This builds on Kia's current EV line-up of the eSoul and eNiro, which have been heralded for their realistic 450+ kilometre range and powerful rapid-charging, where possible, which isn't so easy in Ireland, but that's not Kia's fault.
Kia President and CEO Ho Sung Song spoke of the new EV strategy. "Kia has sold more than 100,000 BEVs worldwide since the introduction of our first mass-produced BEV in 2011, the Kia Ray EV. By refocusing our business on electrification, we're aiming for BEVs to account for 25% of our total worldwide sales by 2029."
If you are unaware of the Kia Ray, it's a compact city-car that was only sold in Asia, which will make sense when you see it.

Sung Song's words seem reserved, stating Kia is only aiming at EVs to account for a quarter of their sales by the end of the decade. Their push to electrify could very well see them exceed that figure.
Under estimate and over achieve maybe. Kia have quietly grown over the last decade, so doing things discreetly seems to work for them.
Kia hasn't gone into specifics about what type of models we can expect with this EV push, but with seven models planned, they will no doubt cover a wide-range of options. The first of which will probably be a C-Segment car, which has been seen testing recently, in heavily disguised form.

Whatever is to come, we shouldn't have long to wait as Kia look to launch their assault on the EV market fast and hard,
